Voss Gondol — Northern Europe's largest
Voss Gondol is Northern Europe's largest and most modern cable car, with nine cabins carrying 35 passengers each. It runs continuously from Voss station, so waits are minimal. The whole ride takes under nine minutes, and you can bring strollers, bikes or skis.
What's at the top
The top station has Hangurstoppen Restaurant with panoramic windows, outdoor seating and local food. Around the building you'll find marked trails, viewpoints and — in summer — one of Western Norway's busiest paragliding launch sites. In winter the ski resort takes over.
Hiking up
If you'd rather walk than ride, the shortest route starts at Voss Folkemuseum Mølstertunet. The trail is steep from the start and follows the service road up to Hangursrestauranten. Allow 1.5–2 hours up.
Our tips
Check opening hours at vossresort.no before you go — the gondola closes for maintenance in low season (May and November). From our cabin in Tråstølen it's only a few minutes' drive to the lower station.
