Voss is at its most vibrant in summer. Between June and August you'll find festivals, mountain hikes, fjord swims, concerts and some of Norway's best family activities — all within a short distance of the centre. Here's an overview of what's on in Voss summer 2026, month by month.
June — Voss Cup, Ekstremsportveko and full season
- Voss Cup 12–14 June 2026 — youth football tournament for ages 7–12. Brings hundreds of teams and thousands of visitors to Voss that weekend.
- Ekstremsportveko 21–28 June 2026 — the world's largest extreme sports festival. BASE jumping, paragliding, kayaking, skydiving, mountain biking and longboarding — plus a concert programme every evening. Programme and tickets at ekstremsportveko.com.
- Voss Climbing & Zipline Park (Voss Active in Skulestadmo) is open weekends from May and daily from 24 June to the end of August.
- Voss Gondola runs daily up to Hangurstoppen (808 m) — views across the whole valley.
- Rafting on Strandaelva is at its wildest in June thanks to snowmelt.
- Day trip on the Flåm Railway — one of the world's most scenic train rides, easy to reach from Voss.
July — peak season, warm days and the mountains
- Swimming in Vangsvatnet — sandy beach, floating dock and boat rental right in the centre.
- Vossabadet — modern swimming hall in the centre with diving tower, slides and children's pool. A great backup on rainy days.
- Mountain biking in Bavallen — rent a bike and take the gondola up.
- Voss Golf Club — 9-hole course by Lønavatnet, open to visitors.
August — mountain hikes and quieter weeks
- Summit hikes: Lønahorgi (1,410 m), Horgaletten and Grånosi are at their finest in August once the snow has melted.
- Berry and mushroom foraging in the forests around Tråstølen and Bavallen.
- SUP and kayaking on Lønavatnet and Vangsvatnet — often calm evenings.
- Final weeks at the climbing park — Voss Climbing & Zipline Park is open daily until 27 August, then weekends through the rest of the season.
